…Ger Halligan!
Throughout the summer, Lee Valley partnered with Oakley to offer a pretty unbelievable competition. We held our Monday Open Singles, and the top two winners each Monday were entered into the playoffs for a chance to win a trip to Portugal to watch the Portugal Masters!
This past Monday were the playoffs, and what a great day!
The entire event was sponsored by Oakley, who provided some amazing prizes to the winners and goodies for the players on the first tee. Special thanks to Oakley’s local rep, Kieran O’Connor, who is also a friend and member of the Lee Valley Golf & Country Club. Oakley not only sponsored this competition but are official sponsors of the Portugal Masters.
Ger Halligan, Lee Valley, won first prize, scoring 38 points and winning a trip to Portugal to watch the Portugal Masters in October. Not only will Ger have passes for the European Tour Event, flights and accommodation, but will also have exclusive access to the players area.
Second prize went to Ken Buckley, Lee Valley, who scored 35 points. Ken is now the proud owner of a limited edition, top quality Edel putter. There were only 20 of these putters made – handcrafted for Oakley.
Third prize went to Colin Hussey, Mahon, who scored 34 points and a pair of Prism Oakley Sunglasses! Looking sharp, Colin!
Fourth prize went to Sean Horgan, Muskerry, who scored 33 points, winning himself an Oakley Golf Bag.
Overall, the summer Oakley Open Singles and the final playoffs was a huge success, and a lot of fun! Though the competition has ended, our Monday Open Singles will continue as usual, so come out and be a part of the magic of Lee Valley!
